Who We Are

Our Mission

At The Potter's House Christian Church in Stockton, our mission is simple: to reach the world with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We believe in taking the gospel beyond the four walls of the church — through personal evangelism, community outreaches, and global missions. The message of Jesus has the power to save, heal, and transform lives, and our goal is to share that hope with our city and beyond.

Our Vision

Our vision is to make disciples, build the local church, and send workers into the harvest field. We believe that every believer can be trained and equipped to fulfill God's purpose for their life, and that through the local church, we can impact the world. From neighborhood outreaches in Stockton to church planting and world evangelism, our heart is to see people encounter Jesus and live out His calling — one soul at a time.

What We Believe

The Potter's House Stockton is part of the Christian Fellowship Ministries family of churches, and we share the statement of faith of our mother church, The Door Christian Fellowship in Gallup, New Mexico. In short, we believe:

  • One God. There is one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ. Jesus is eternally God. He became man, born of the Virgin Mary, and is forever fully God and fully man.
  • The Bible. The Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God, our final authority for what we believe and how we live.
  • Salvation. Christ's death on the cross paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world. Salvation is God's free gift, received through repentance and faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and the atonement also provides for healing of body, soul, and spirit.
  • The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives life and empowers believers for service and witness. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, is available to every believer after salvation.
  • A Holy Life. The Christian life is one of devotion and holiness as God shapes us into the image of Christ.
  • The Church. The Church is the Body of Christ, and every believer has a God-given place in it and a part in the Great Commission.
  • Baptism and Communion. We practice water baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the Lord's Supper in remembrance of Him.
  • Christ's Return. Jesus is coming again, bodily and personally, followed by the resurrection of the saints, the millennium, and the final judgment.
Pastor Paul and Kaylen Heimberg

Our Pastors

Pastor Paul & Kaylen Heimberg

Pastor Paul and Kaylen are originally from Gallup, New Mexico, where they met and where Paul was trained for ministry. Pastoring runs in the family: Paul comes from a line of pastors reaching back to his great-grandfather, Pastor Wayman Mitchell.

When The Potter's House Stockton needed a pastor, Paul and Kaylen answered the call and moved to Stockton to lead the church. They love the people of Stockton, this city, and their church family, and they'd love to meet you this Sunday.
